This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director of Naval Information, Nigerian Navy, Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho.

The Nigerian Navy team, comprising Lieutenant Commander J.E. Peter, Lieutenant Y.S. Danladi, Lieutenant M.M. Huseini, Sub-Lieutenant I.B. Gaya and Sub-Lieutenant A. Adam, secured the victory at the National Cyber Security Conference (NCSC) 2026.

According to the statement, the win demonstrates the Service’s growing expertise in cybersecurity and its commitment to developing specialised capabilities in emerging digital technologies.

The competition tested participants’ proficiency in offensive security, application security, threat detection, incident investigation and defensive cyber operations through realistic simulated scenarios.

The achievement, the statement added, highlights the Nigerian Navy’s investment in technical competence and professional development to protect information systems and critical digital infrastructure.

The CNS described the victory as a testament to the team’s discipline, dedication and professionalism. He further commended the personnel and urged them to uphold the Nigerian Navy’s high professional standards while applying their expertise to strengthen naval operations and enhance maritime security.
