Strike: Full Clinical Services Resume at Benue Uni Teaching Hospital

Full clinical services has resumed at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi following the resumption of duties by the striking unions.
Recalled the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) as well as Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), had embarked in n indefinite strike over issues relating to staff welfare.
A statement by the Acting Head of Public Relations, Mr. Tsenzughul Moses, indicated that the hospital consultants, resident doctors, house officers, other clinical and non-clinical staff are available for 24-hours to attend to outpatients and inpatients on clinic days, while emergency services will be provided including weekends and public holidays.
The Management of the hospital under the leadership of Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, thanked the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his prompt intervention over the labour dispute that resulted to the call-off of the strike by the various Unions.
The statement further indicated that the Management of the hospital has promised to ensure that patients continue to receive the best healthcare needs they deserve.
