Troops of 312 Artillery Regiment under 1 Division Nigerian Army and Sector 1 Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested a suspected military impostor in a proactive operation aimed at preserving the integrity of the Armed Forces and protecting the public from fraudulent activities.

The suspect, a civilian, was apprehended at about 9:50 a.m. on 11 June 2026 by troops deployed at Strike Force Base Sabo while allegedly impersonating Major General AT Ibrahim (Rtd). Preliminary investigations are currently underway, after which the suspect will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution.

The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its commitment to combating all forms of criminality, including impersonation and other acts capable of undermining public trust in the military institution.

Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious individuals claiming military status without proper identification. The Nigerian Army assures citizens that it will continue to take decisive action against anyone found exploiting the name and reputation of the Armed Forces for unlawful purposes.
