The project was executed under the COAS Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Project.

Shaibu, represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, said the facility would provide a conducive environment for teaching, learning, research and innovation, while enhancing digital literacy.

He said the intervention should transcend physical infrastructure to enable knowledge sharing and create a technologically empowered community, urging residents to take ownership and ensure proper maintenance and security of the facility.

The project benefactor, Major General Ismail Dapo Oloyede, in whose honour the project was executed, said the school was his alma mater which shaped his discipline and career. He expressed hope that the lab would drive learning, innovation and creativity.

The Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (Army), Major General Mohammed Etsu Indagi, said the CIMIC scheme honours senior officers of Major General rank and appreciates communities that produced them, through interventions in healthcare, water, schools, roads and bridges.

The Commissioner for Education, Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, commended the Army’s support for education, saying the donation ensures the school is not left behind digitally.

The lab, fully furnished and powered by solar energy, is designed to provide dependable power, renewable energy and access to digital educational resources.

The event featured goodwill messages, cultural displays, unveiling of a plaque and group photographs, and was attended by serving and retired officers, education officials, traditional rulers, old students, staff and students.
