PROF. TERHEMBA SHIJA: “FOUR YEARS ARE ENOUGH TO SET BENUE ON A NEW DEVELOPMENT PATH”

“My vision for Benue State is anchored on purposeful leadership, strategic planning, accountability, and measurable development outcomes. A four-year tenure should be an opportunity to address long-standing development challenges, complete unfinished projects, strengthen public institutions, and establish a solid foundation for sustainable growth.

The people of Benue deserve a government with a clearly defined development agenda, realistic priorities, practical implementation strategies, and a strong commitment to delivering results within its mandate. Governance must not be measured by promises alone, but by tangible improvements in the lives of our people.

I therefore urge all governorship aspirants to present their visions for Benue and allow the people to evaluate them based on their experience, policy direction, understanding of our challenges, and proposed solutions. Our state needs a development-focused approach that prioritises security, education, healthcare, agriculture, industrial revival, infrastructure, employment opportunities, and the effective functioning of local governments.

I am confident that, with careful planning, prudent management of public resources, transparency, and a clear sense of responsibility, a four-year administration can make meaningful progress and reposition Benue for sustainable development.

My commitment is to pursue a governance agenda with clear objectives, defined timelines, and measurable outcomes, so that the people of Benue can assess our performance against the promises made. The ultimate goal is to build a state where public resources serve the public interest, opportunities are accessible to our people, and development reaches every local government area.

Benue needs more than political promises; it needs a practical development roadmap, accountable leadership, and a government committed to translating its vision into results. That is the essence of my proposed four-year development agenda.”
