President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Samuel Ortom, the immediate past governor of Benue State, and the Hon. Titus Uba, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections in Benue state have eulogized the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), HE Dr. George Akume on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

The President thanked the SGF for his consistency and perpetual dedication to duty in coordinating the affairs of the government, noting his rich portfolio of leadership experience and laurels as governor, minister, senator, and top-flight public servant, which he brings to bear in his current role.

President Tinubu extolled the temperance, affability, harmony, and stability of the SGF adding that he coordinates activities both within and with other arms of government; making himself accessible, focused, and dependable in bridging the divide between policy and implementation.

“George Akume is one of the most reliable citizens this country can boast of. The people of Benue have subscribed to his sterling leadership principles and leveraged his remarkable talent for so many years because of what he has always stood for. He will be with you in the best of days, and even most reliably, in the worst of days. The country has been blessed with the dedication and sure-handedness of Senator Akume,” the President said in a statement through Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.

While wishing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation good health and strength, the President implores Senator Akume not to relent in his diligent service to the country.

Similarly, the Immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom joins millions of other Nigerians in celebrating the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume on his 70th birthday anniversary.

Similarly, the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom described Senator Akume as a statesman and leader who has made significant contributions to the development of the nation in his public service career.

“As a two-time Governor of Benue State, three-time Senator representing Benue North West Senatorial District, Minister and now Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Akume’s leadership has been characterized by wisdom, humility, and commitment to the growth of society,” Chief Ortom said.

Chief Ortom noted that Senator Akume has groomed and positioned countless people including technocrats, politicians, and professionals in various fields, and his legacy of vision and mentorship will continue to positively impact on many lives.

The former Governor prays that God grants the SGF many more years of good health, happiness, and continued fulfillment.

Also, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the 2023 governorship election in Benue state, Rt Hon Engr. Titus Uba congratulated Dr. George Akume on his birthday.

Extolling the leadership hallmarks of the former Governor of Benue State, the former Speaker describes Senator Akume as a worthy son of Benue whose contributions to the socio-economic and political development of Nigeria is unquantifiable having served the state and nation in different capacities.

He wishes Senator Akume well as he joins the league of Septuagenarians and expresses hope that he will continue to bring his wealth of experience as a two-term governor, three-term senator, and Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to bear on the performance of his duties as Secretary to Government of the Federation and prays for his long life.
