The Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) held a grand ceremony on Monday, 6 January 2025, to honour 11 senior officers recently promoted to higher ranks.
The event, held at the College’s permanent site in Ojo, Lagos, was presided over by the Commandant NACOLM, Major General Wisdom Etuk, who personally decorated the officers with their new badges of rank.
The ceremony was a reflection of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to recognizing excellence and encouraging professionalism among its personnel.
The promotions included 2 senior officers elevated to the rank of Brigadier General (Brig Gen), 7 senior officers to the rank of Colonel (Col) and 2 senior officers to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) respectively.
These officers were recognized for their outstanding contributions to NACOLM, the Nigerian Army (NA) and the nation as a whole.
The newly promoted officers were Brig Gen Saidu Tafida and Brig Gen Solomon Julius. Col Bolaji Olasope, Col John Oshikoya, Col Adebayo Adekuoroye, Col Oluranti Ogundiniyi, Col Ifeayin Uyenu, Col Sani Bello and Col Emmanuel Ayeba. Others were Lt Col Oluwatimilehin Onadipe and Lt Col Babatope Olafiaji. Their dedication and exemplary service earned them this distinguished honour.
In his remarks, Major General Etuk underscored the significance of the occasion, emphasizing that promotion is not merely a reward for past achievements but a call to greater responsibility.
He charged the senior officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, leadership and ethical conduct while serving in their new capacities. He further highlighted the critical role of logistics and management in operational success, urging the officers to contribute effectively in these areas.
Major General Etuk reiterated NACOLM’s commitment to developing leaders of competence, character and capacity. He urged the newly promoted officers to continue to deliver in their duties in support of the COAS command philosophy.
The Commandant acknowledged and thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for his continuous support to NACOLM.
