CDS Reaffirms Commitment to National Security, Praises Troops Resilience

‎The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity and tolerance while reaffirming the Armed Forces’ commitment to national security.

‎

‎In his Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 message, Oluyede described the season as one of hope, sacrifice, and renewal.

‎

‎“Christmas embodies love, sacrifice and hope, offering us an opportunity to reflect on peace and national responsibility,” he said.

‎

‎He commended Nigerians for their resilience and continued support for the military.

‎

‎“The trust between the military and the citizenry remains vital to sustainable peace,” the CDS stated.

‎

‎Oluyede paid tribute to frontline troops deployed nationwide, praising their courage and professionalism.

‎

‎“Our gallant troops remain vigilant in defence of the nation, even at great personal sacrifice,” he said.

‎

‎He assured personnel that welfare remains a core priority under military leadership.

‎

‎“We are improving healthcare, accommodation, allowances and support for families of fallen heroes,” Musa said.

‎

‎He urged Armed Forces personnel to uphold discipline, integrity, and loyalty to the Constitution.

‎

‎The CDS called on Nigerians to promote peace across ethnic and religious divides.

‎

‎“Our diversity is our strength,” he noted.

‎

‎He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sustained support to the Armed Forces and called for stronger inter-agency synergy.
