The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has celebrated the second anniversary of Nigeria’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, describing it as a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey.

Speaking at the Microsoft AI Skills event, which marked the progress of Artificial Intelligence development in Nigeria, the minister expressed satisfaction with the achievements recorded so far and optimism about the nation’s digital future.

Dr. Tijani noted that the AI initiative has created opportunities for both young and older Nigerians to acquire training and develop expertise in Artificial Intelligence, thereby expanding access to emerging digital skills across the country.

He emphasized the importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence into key sectors such as agriculture to improve productivity, innovation, and national development.

The minister also highlighted the need to combine emotional intelligence with Artificial Intelligence, stressing that technology must remain human-centered and beneficial to society.

Reaffirming his confidence in the future of AI in Nigeria, Dr. Tijani said the country is on the right path toward becoming a leading player in the global digital economy through innovation, skills development, and strategic partnerships.
