Benue State governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Sebastine Hon, SAN, has extended warm felicitations to the former Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Samuel Ortom, the Nyamkume I Tiv on the occasion of his 65th birthday.
Prof. Hon described Ortom as a courageous man whose service to Benue State remains indelible.
“Your life has been a testament to courage under fire. As Governor, you governed in one of the most turbulent epochs of our State’s history, yet you never wavered when the security and dignity of the Benue people were under assault.
“You chose to speak when silence was safer. You chose to stand when retreat was easier. Your voice became a shield and a refuge for Benue people .
“History will record that you carried the burden of leadership with uncommon candour, even when it earned you adversaries in high places. That is the mark of true statesmanship, service not for applause, but for posterity.
“At 65, you enter the hallowed ranks of elder statesmen whose duty transcends petty tribal, sectional and partisan categorisations.
“Benue still requires your wisdom. Nigeria still needs your fearless clarity on justice, federalism, and the sanctity of human life. Your journey is far from over; it has only matured into a higher calling.
“On behalf of my family, associates, teeming supporters, and the good people who believe in a greater Benue, I pray God grants you excellent health, renewed vigour, and many more decades of impactful service.
“May your best years of counsel, advocacy, and peacebuilding still lie ahead.
“Happy 65th Birthday, Your Excellency,” the Learned Silk wrote.
