Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate Prof. Sebastine Hon (SAN) says he would confront all challenges bedevilling Benue State and make life meaningful to the people.
He said Benue people have suffered for too long and need someone fearless, selfless and committed to the defence of the people.
Speaking as a Special Guest on Sunday at the NKST Church, Twowanye in Buruku Local Government Area, the senior advocate recounted his numerous interventions for Benue people starting from the Zaki-Biam killings of 2001 to date and expressed his resolve to do more when he becomes governor in 2027.
He stated that his administration would alleviate poverty through establishment of industries, provision of grants and scholarship as well as government subsidy on agricultural inputs to make them affordable to farmers.
In her remarks, the
deputy governorship candidate, Dr. (Mrs) Margaret Ogah called on all people of the state especially women to throw their weight behind Prof. Hon who she said, is an asset to Benue State.
Wife to the governor ship candidate Chief (Mrs.) Felicia Hon said Benue people will not regret voting her husband, whom she said, is committed to alleviating the suffering of the people.
The Director General, Sebastine Hon Campaign Organisation, Dr. Ngutor Anyam clarified that the Kwande bloc of Tiv nation is not in the governorship race and urged Benue people to disregard whoever comes from Kwande claiming to be a governorship candidate but maintain their support for Prof. Hon.
Former Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief Benjamin Agber said Benue State state is under siege and the only person to extinguish the fire is prof. Hon who has demonstrated his love for the people.
The Director Planning and Strategy, Sebastine Tar. Hon Campaign Organisation, Rev. Emmanuel Atsor said the task at hand is not about where one comes from but who is capable of delivering Benue people from slavery, stagnation and poverty, stressing that Prof. Hon has paid his dues and needs the support of the people.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Resident Pastor, NKST Tyowanye, Terkula Iorwuese appreciated the candidate for remembering to seek the face of God in the pursuit of his governorship ambition and assured that the antecedents of the SDP guber candidate will work for him when the time comes.
In his sermon, Visiting Pastor, Rev. Nathan Bee Undu of NKST Akaa Kusuv who preached on the theme “God acts of the reports He hears from people” admonished mankind to be wary of their conduct, bearing in mind that there are consequences and rewards for everything one does on earth.
He posited that Prof. Hon has carved a niche for himself in Benue State and Nigeria as a whole, adding that God is aware of his track record and would fulfil his heart’s desire come 2027.
The pastors jointly prayed for the success of the governorship candidate.
