The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with the private sector to enhance logistics support, improve fleet sustainment, and bolster operational readiness.
The COAS stated this on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, while receiving the executive management of Elizade Nigeria Limited during a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters, Abuja.
Represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Bamidele Alabi, the COAS underscored the critical role of a reliable and mission-ready vehicle fleet in sustaining combat effectiveness and enabling rapid deployment of forces.
Gen. Shaibu noted that strategic collaboration between the military and the private sector remains a vital force multiplier in enhancing defence capabilities, particularly in fleet management, equipment maintenance, technical support, and manpower development.
He emphasized that such partnerships are integral to the Nigerian Army’s transformation agenda aimed at building a more agile, technologically enabled, and self-reliant force.
The COAS commended Elizade Nigeria Limited for its longstanding support through the supply of vehicles, maintenance services, technical collaboration, and industrial training programmes for personnel of military workshop units.
“Your sustained contributions have complemented the Army’s efforts to strengthen its logistics architecture and improve operational efficiency in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.
Gen. Shaibu further assured the delegation of the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to providing a secure environment that promotes economic growth and encourages investment.
He added that closer collaboration among the military, government institutions and the private sector remains indispensable to building resilient defence capabilities and fostering lasting peace and prosperity.
Earlier, the Branch Manager, Elizade Nigeria Limited, Mr. Adeniji Abiodun Adeyinka, conveyed the goodwill of the Founder, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, and the company’s management.
He lauded the COAS for his visionary leadership and applauded the Nigerian Army’s steadfast efforts in addressing the country’s complex security challenges.
Mr. Adeniji reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its partnership with the Nigerian Army through enhanced technical support, fleet maintenance services, industrial attachment opportunities and the provision of quality automotive solutions tailored to the Army’s evolving operational needs.
