In a statement issued on Friday the Director, Information and Public relations, Caroline Embu, the new date for the commencement of the orientation course is Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

According to the statement, the Cut-Off/Swearing-in Ceremony will now hold on Friday, August 14, 2026, while the Closing Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The Scheme attributed the adjustment to renovation works being carried out in the Sokoto and Niger Orientation Camps by their respective state governments.

The NYSC also advised all Prospective Corps Members, PCMs, to avoid night travel to their orientation camps.

The Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished all PCMs safe journeys to their camps.
