The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has agreed with President Bola Tinubu’s administration that its reforms are rewriting the story of Nigeria’s economic underperformance.

In a statement by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group noted that the position put forward by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Tinubu at the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG in Abuja was apt.

It said: “We are aware that President Bola Tinubu acknowledged that the administration took off on a difficult note and there was no shortcut to economic growth.

“We also acknowledge that with the various policies enunciated by the Tinubu administration, it is stabilising the economy, thereby rescuing livelihoods and changing the lives of young employment seekers, farmers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and innovators.

“The elaborate economic policies of the federal government have enabled a significant increase in manufacturing activities, backward integration in the sector, macroeconomic gains and creation of jobs.

“There is also a significant increase in the activities of the agricultural sector where farms are being connected to the storage facilities, processing centres and markets. Also, irrigation, mechanisation, finance and rural infrastructure have been given a boost.

“It is also remarkable that the federal government is moving beyond extraction to domestic processing, industrial production and exports in the solid minerals sector.”

It also expressed optimism that the federal government was focused on creating the enabling environment for Nigerians to compete globally in technology, financial services and other sectors of the economy.
