An ISO 9001 certificate is proof that an organization has met the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard for quality management. The standard defines how to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve a quality management system (QMS) that meets customer expectations and improves performance.
Our correspondent reports that BIPC for months has been retooling its work processes including automation to meet the ISO 9001 certification. The MD had told our correspondent exclusively he would follow the certification process with diligence until he achieves it.
Presenting the certificate to the Managing Director/CEO BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha at BIPC Headquarters in Makurdi, Benue State, the Managing Director of Occupational Safety Consultants (OSC) Ltd., MR. Kelvin Acka said the “achievement is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the entire team at BIPC Makurdi to uphold the highest standards of quality in all aspects of their operations.”
“The ISO 9001 certification is not just a piece of paper; it is a symbol of dedication, diligence, and continuous improvement. It signifies that BIPC Makurdi has implemented robust quality management systems that adhere to internationally recognized standards. It demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction, process efficiency, and organizational effectiveness” he further stated.
Mr. Acka further explained that “achieving ISO 9001 certification is no small feat. It requires relentless effort, meticulous attention to detail, and a culture of excellence ingrained within the organization.”
He commended the “leadership team and every employee at BIPC Makurdi for their dedication and hard work in attaining this prestigious certification.”
He however told them that achieving the feat means there is a lot of hard work to sustain it. “Let us remember that this is not the end of the journey but rather the beginning of a new chapter. With ISO 9001 certification comes the responsibility to uphold and continually improve upon the standards set forth. It is a commitment to ongoing evaluation, adaptation, and innovation to ensure that quality remains at the forefront of everything we do.”

The Managing Director/CEO BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha has expressed excitement over the certification, promising the quality assurance at BIPC wouldn’t drop under his watch.
He promised to sustain the international best practices that the company has attained so it can remain attractive to both local and international investors.
The current certificate will expire in 2027 after which, BIPC will be required to recertify.
