Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled a cattle rustling activity and recovered over 500 cattle during a swift response operation in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State on 8 September 2026.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.
According to the statement, troops responded to a distress call from locals on cattle rustling activity at Rugar Mande Kurmin. The troops swiftly mobilised to the suspected withdrawal routes of the terrorists and formed blocking positions.
Troops engaged the terrorists from multiple positions, forcing them to withdraw in disarray and abandon all the rustled cattle.
All the recovered cattle were subsequently handed over to their respective owners.
The successful operation, the statement added, further buttresses the unwavering commitment of troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to secure lives and property of the citizenry while disrupting criminal activities and denying criminal elements freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA urged the general public to continue to support security agencies with relevant information to enable the Theatre eradicate terrorist elements within the Joint Operations Area.
