In a statement, the Army said the application is open to qualified civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements.

It stated that successful candidates, upon completion of training and commissioning, will serve in the Combat Arms — specifically the Infantry and Armour Corps — and the Combat Support Arms, including Artillery, Engineers, Signals, and the Intelligence Corps.

Prospective applicants are to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal: nashortservice.army.mil.ng. Applicants are to select the SSCC option and follow the application instructions carefully.

The application deadline is on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The Army has warned the public to disregard any online application portal or recruitment announcement that appears to have been opened before this official publication.

It urged applicants to rely only on information released through official Nigerian Army channels.

The public is also advised to watch out for official recruitment jingles on television and radio stations following this publication.
