Operation Whirl Stroke Thwarts Attack on Benue Community

Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, have foiled an attack by suspected armed assailants at Azege Village, Tombo Council Ward, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Customs Hand Over 189,000 Cartridge to small arms control agency in Minna

This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Media Information Officer, HQ JTF Operation WHIRL STROKE, Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu Zubairu, on Monday, August 11, 2026.

According to the statement, troops responded to a distress call on Sunday, August 10, 2026, reporting an attack on Azege Community. On arrival, the troops engaged the attackers and forced them to withdraw.

The statement said items were recovered at the scene and have been secured by security agencies. Efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend other fleeing members of the group.

Operation WHIRL STROKE commended the troops for their swift response and the Nigeria Police Force for its cooperation.

The Joint Task Force urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies to enhance safety in the area.
